Bible verses about fear
What the Bible says when you are afraid, and it is not “do not be”.
“Do not be afraid” shows up often in the Bible, and almost never on its own. A reason follows: because I am with you, because I am your God. It is not an order to feel less. It is a reason to stay standing while you feel it.
That changes how they read. Isaiah 41:10 is not asking anyone to fake courage; it is speaking to an exiled people and telling them they are not alone. And Psalm 91 does not promise there is nothing out there. It says where to go while there is.
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
