When you have to choose and no option is clear.
Almost none of these verses tell you what to choose. They tell you how to choose, which is a different thing and usually the one you need.
Proverbs 16:3 asks you to commit your work to the Lord before your thoughts are settled, in that order. Proverbs 16:9 puts it plainly: a man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. And James 1:5 is the most practical of them all: if you lack wisdom, ask for it.
None of them spare you the decision. All of them change what you make it with.
